IEP Access to Learning Webinar

Posted By Claire Illingworth MIEP, People Development Consultant, Seetec, 30 March 2017

Access to Learning - Webinar Helps Employees at Seetec Access Resources

The IEP delivered a ‘first of a kind’ webinar for employees of Seetec focused on how they can get the most from the IEP website and access a range of tools and information to help them prepare for the impact of the Work and Health Programme and the new cohort of customers with complex and intensive support needs.

IEP’s newly formatted knowledge bank, CPD and forthcoming networking and training events were all showcased in this webinar with the purpose of encouraging employees who are not currently IEP members to identify the benefits of IEP membership and to showcase the wealth of information they could get access to if they were an IEP Member.  It was also an opportunity to help employees who are already members to get the best out of their membership and to see how the learning resources can help to supplement and complement Seetec’s own in-house online learning offer.

Claire Illingworth MIEP, People Development Consultant at Seetec said ‘We really like to encourage employees to access learning materials at the point of learning need rather than taking precious time out of the office to attend formal training which doesn’t always facilitate the behavioural changes needed’.

Over the last year, the IEP has become significantly more adept at supporting learning and development teams to deliver what is really necessary to the frontline and are currently working with HR teams across the country to look at how the IEP can help improve delivery outcomes by recognising the learning and CPD that is already taking place across the sector.

The IEP have developed their own suite of training and learning materials through its Induction Pack and members can access these on-line . We have also launched the ‘10 Things’ series working in association with several third sector organisations to develop quick and easy to understand guides that cover a huge range of specialist subjects for customers with specific needs.

‘Building informal learning capabilities allows employees to keep in touch with the modern world where knowledge is readily available at the touch of a screen or keyboard. The resources on the IEP website really help to underpin this philosophy and help to ensure that our employees are getting access to high quality, industry specific material’ said Claire.

Thisara David, IEP’s Head of Operations who co-delivered the webinar said ‘Our primary aim is to become the place to go when people want help to support their customers.  We were really pleased to engage with Seetec’s employees in this way and we would positively encourage other organisations to approach us so that we can help promote our resources to better equip their staff with the knowledge and support they need to deliver expert advice’.
